===== Configuration =====
opkg configuration file resides here: 
  /etc/opkg.conf

default file content is:
  root@OpenWrt:/# cat /etc/opkg.conf 
  src/gz snapshots http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/packages
  dest root /
  dest ram /tmp
  lists_dir ext /var/opkg-lists
  option overlay_root /overlay


===== Get fresh package list =====
When you start up carambola you must update package list. Otherwise you will not see many available packages. This list is saved in /tmp, after you reboot package list is erased. You save some precious space on your carambola.

  opkg update

===== Install package =====
  opkg install <package>
 
===== Remove package =====
  opkg remove <package>

===== Remove a package and orphaned dependancies =====
  opkg remove --autoremove package_name

or remove with all dependent packages

  opkg remove --force-removal-of-dependent-packages
===== Get the list of available packages =====
  opkg list

===== Get the list of installed packages =====
  opkg list_installed

===== List a package content =====
  opkg files package_name
